Our dojos (training places) are accredited by the Shudokan Aikido Association. The SAA is a non profit corporation chartered in the State of Texas for the promotion and instruction of Aikido according to the standards of Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan. All Shudokan Association member dojos are sponsored and registered through the Suginami Aikikai of Tokyo, Japan to the World Headquarters of Aikido, the Aikikai Hombu Dojo. While most dojos in the United States are "accredited" by national Aikido associations or federations, our "accreditation" comes because the instructors of all SAA dojos are students of a direct student of the Founder of Aikido, Hiroshi Kato, 8th degree black belt. All our black belt ranks then are issued through the World Headquarters of Aikido and bear the signature of the grandson of the Founder, Moriteru Ueshiba.
