was at that moment I truly knew he was not only my Sensei and I was not only his
student, but that we were friends. I loved him so much and will truly miss him. My life is
better for knowing him. Through us all Sensei LIVES!

This is such sad and unexpected news. I will tell the boys this morning, and prepare them
for a "sadder" dojo. I have noticed that you haven't seemed "yourself" and am sorry to
hear of your loss. If there is anything the dojo traditionally does, like condolence letters or
the like, The boys certainly want to send theirs since they have been in the dojo for so
long and have had meaningful contact with Kato Sensei.
The Dixon Family, Shudokan School of Aikido
I want to express my condolences to the family of Kato Sensei. Kato Sensei taught me
Aikido but more importantly, he taught me how to live in peace.

My condolences to you on the passing of Kato Sensei. I can't imagine how difficult this is
for you. I know that you had a very special connection with him and I really appreciate
that you kept us cognizant of the tremendous privilege we had training directly with him.
For that, all of us will be indebted to you. Alberto Sensei and I were discussing his
passing last night but it is still very surreal.
Frank Rodriguez, Shodan Candidate, Shudokan Aikido
I received the shocking news about your teacher. Just expressing my condolence on Mr.
Hiroshi Kato’s passing away. Take care and continue the path that Mr. Kato has taught
you.
