On behalf of Gulf Breeze Aikido, we extend our condolences to the family of Kato sensei.
It is hard to believe that Kato sensei is no longer with us. His absence will be felt deeply
in our hearts. Not only will we remember him for his powerful and mesmerizing
Aikido, but also for his humility, his kindness, his gentle smile and laughter. He had
serenity on and off the mat. His movements were like shadows
and his techniques spoke loud as thunder, He was a true inspiration in the way of Aiki.
Dear Sensei, we will miss you greatly.
ガルフブリーズ合気道を代表して加藤先生のご家族にお悔やみを申し上げます。加藤先
生がもうこの世にいらっしゃらないとは今でも信じられません。先生を失ったことは、
私たち一同にとりまして痛切の極みです。私たちは、先生の力強く魅力的な合気道のみ
ならず、その謙虚さ、優しさ、穏やかな笑顔と笑いをいつまでも忘れません。先生は道
場の畳の上でもその外でも物静かな方でした。その動きは影のように静かでも、その技
には稲妻のような激しさがありました。先生こそ合気道の真の啓蒙家でした。先生、私
たちは先生を失って寂しい気持ちでいっぱいです。

I am sorry to learn the sad news. I will inform my group. I know that Kato sensei had a
profound effect upon you and your students. I trust that his spirit will continue through
your daily study of Budo. Beverley and I are thinking of you all.

Kato Sensei was a great man and will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. It
was a great honor to have trained with him.

I offer my sincerest condolences to the family of Kato Sensei. This was news that I
regretted to receive and that I grieved over in my heart. I will remember him and have
him in my memory as the great master that he was for us and for so many around the
world.
